Meeting Reporting Requirements – Sunshine Act and EFPIA
The Physician Payments Sunshine Act (Sunshine Act) requires Astex to report any transfers of value, including reimbursement of interview-related expenses, to candidates who are US-licensed physicians. Such physicians covered by the Sunshine Act include Doctors of Medicine, Osteopathy, Dentistry, Dental Surgery, Podiatry, Optometry and Chiropractic Medicine licensed to practice medicine in the U.S. On an annual basis, transfers of value information will be submitted to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), who will post the submitted data on its public database.
The European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations (EFPIA) has a Disclosure Code that Astex is committed to follow, as well as any applicable National disclosure requirements. The Code or National requirements may require Astex to report certain transfers of value to Health Care Professionals. If such reporting is required, Astex will make such submissions of information.
